Cable nets' upfront selling eclipses broadcast, CAB says

Cable networks fared quite nicely in the recently wrapped upfront for the 2011-12 TV season, per the Cabletelevision Advertising Bureau, which reported the national cable networks' as having taken in a record total of $9.3 billion -- a 16% hike over the previous upfront. According to this article, this year's upfront sales by the broadcast nets CBS, Fox, ABC, NBC and The CW totaled an estimated $9.1 billion.
