Program trains Chinese teachers for U.S. classrooms

About 176 teachers from China are participating in a nine-day crash course in Los Angeles to prepare them for teaching Mandarin Chinese in U.S. schools across the country. The program is part of a partnership between the federal language initiative Startalk and the Chinese government's language council, Hanban. The workshops feature instruction in classroom management and increasing the use of technology and interactivity as part of lessons.
