Some states already require EPA's proposed fracking policies

Companies operating in Colorado and Wyoming are practicing some of the techniques proposed by the Environmental Protection Agency to reduce emissions from hydraulic fracturing. Colorado's oil and natural gas industry has spent more than $40 million in the past few years to limit emissions at drilling operations across the state, said Doug Flanders, a spokesman for the Colorado Oil and Gas Association.
