Wellness incentives can have a positive bottom-line impact for companies including IBM, which more than doubled its $81 million program investment. An Empire BlueCross BlueShield survey of employers with at least 1,000 workers found that 61% offered financial rewards for completing a health assessment, with 40% doing so for employees in smoking-cessation programs.
