$2.3B renovation of Dallas/Fort Worth Airport to incur "substantial overruns"

"[S]ubstantial overruns" are likely to be incurred in the $2.3 billion renovation of terminals at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, says Bernice Washington, a member of the airport board's operations committee. Washington cites an increase in building material prices since construction started; the discovery of more asbestos than anticipated; and the merger of US Airways and American Airlines, which is causing construction delays, as the causes for the overruns.
