DOD review keeps weapons, trims overhead, pay

The now-complete Pentagon budget review aimed at outlining cuts required under sequestration opts to squeeze savings mostly out of troop numbers, pay, and overhead costs, better-than-expected news for the defense industry, analysts said. The review left mostly intact large weapons programs, but with shrinking numbers of troops, it is possible fewer weapons will be needed down the road, some experts said.
