Indian gooseberry boosts endothelial function in diabetes

Type 2 diabetes patients who took Indian gooseberry extracts for 12 weeks showed endothelial function improvements comparable to those who took atorvastatin, according to a small study in Diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome and Obesity: Targets and Therapy. Researchers also found that oxidative stress markers decreased by 23% in those who took the 250 mg extract, 28% in the 500 mg extract and 30% in the statin-treated patients compared with the placebo group.
