Minn. science center's green construction relies on concrete

The builders of the Cascade Meadow Wetlands and Environmental Science Center in Rochester, Minn., say concrete was key to meeting sustainability goals. To minimize energy loss, builders used Insulating Concrete Forms for the majority of the exterior walls on the 16,000-square-foot building. They also gathered material from the surrounding wetlands to supplement the concrete mix.
