Watchdog scrutinizes TSA, FAA security screening for pilots

The Federal Aviation Administration and the Transportation Security Administration were recently criticized by a government watchdog agency for the way they screen pilots. The inspector general of the Department of Homeland Security found that the TSA did not completely scrutinize pilots' criminal background records and the FAA did not collect enough information on the pilots.
