IOM committee offers plan to ensure anti-obesity efforts succeed

A report from the IOM Committee on Evaluating Progress of Obesity Prevention Efforts says not all obesity policies and initiatives in the U.S. are likely to be effective. The committee proposed a National Obesity Evaluation Plan that calls for identifying evaluation efforts and incorporating them into national monitoring systems, adding data and infrastructure to fill gaps and help community obesity evaluation, and creating an online route for feedback to data users.
