Musical game developed to help Md. students learn geography

Music therapist Jason Armstrong Baker has created "Sounds Around the World," a musical game to help students learn geography. The game, in use in schools in several Maryland counties and cities, ties music to specific countries and challenges students to identify the songs' origins on a map. "Kids develop associations with the music they already know, so when they hear new music for the first time they're utilizing the part of the brain that's more about imagination and association," Baker said in this interview.
