Expert: Radiation accidents increasing in China

Accidents in China's workplaces that use radiation, including in the areas of medical testing and drug treatment, "occur five to six times in 10,000 sources of radiation" annually, said a Chinese expert on radiation protection and safety. Most of the accidents were caused by human errors, the expert said. The latest radiation incident involved the leakage of the radioactive isotope cobalt-60 at a factory.
