Scottish students receive exam results early via text message

Officials in Scotland say some students might be at an advantage in applying to university because a technology glitch allowed them to receive their exam results a day early. The early results were sent to the 30,000 students who signed up to receive their scores via text message. The controversy surrounding the error has overshadowed the progress students made on the exams. While fewer exams were taken this year than last, students' scores improved slightly.
