As the House of Representatives is set to return to Washington next week, the opportunity to pass a $30 billion bill that would help small businesses is still a possibility. The bill, which included Republican support when it was written, has not passed in the Senate, with the vote split down party lines. Republicans say they were limited on how many amendments they could make, so they have opposed the bill. Some Senate leaders, including Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., believe there is still hope for the bill.
