1987 EPA report: Fracked well caused contamination

Hydraulic fracturing operations led to groundwater contamination in West Virginia, according to a 1987 report by the Environmental Protection Agency. The report, released this week, concluded that a well drilled in 1982 by Kaiser Gas was responsible for the contamination. The oil and natural gas industry has said that fracking operations are safe.
