Lithium ion battery startup raises $20 million; targets e-bikes, EVs

Leyden Energy, a startup developing lithium ion batteries for applications in electronics and transportation, raised $20 million in private equity funding, with New Enterprise Associates leading the new round of funding. In addition to targeting electronics gadgets, the company is aiming its battery technology at electric bicycles and electric vehicles.
