NRC rolls out schedule for proposed Plant Vogtle reactors

Georgia Power could secure a license to construct two new reactors at its Plant Vogtle in Georgia by December, according to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The agency this month plans to release a final safety report on the project; after that, it would hold a public hearing and vote on whether to approve it. The NRC must also decide on Westinghouse Electric's AP1000 reactor before it awards a license.
