Australian farmers' group rejects call to stop biotech canola production

A farmers' group in New South Wales, Australia, rejected a proposal to delay the commercial production of biotech canola in the country. The group, however, supported another proposal to inform members and consumers about the benefits of bioengineered crops and the role of agencies, such as the Office of Gene Technology Regulator, in ensuring the safety of people and the environment.
