CFOs should get used to the spotlight

An Ernst & Young study found that firms are increasingly calling on their CFOs to communicate financial information to the public and investors, Les Clifford writes. However, less than 50% of CFOs said they believe they have a good or excellent rapport with stakeholders, and only 25% feel they are on good terms with the media, Clifford notes. As finance staffers become more public, companies should help them develop the "right skills and experiences to meet all the demands of their role," he argues.
