Edelman refocuses, drops holding company plans

Edelman is shelving its plans to develop a marketing services holding company in order to focus on its existing public relations, research and social-digital services, said company CEO Richard Edelman. When positioning Edelman against players such as the Publicis-Omnicom merger, the company will not try to compete on marketing but instead try to get clients to divert advertising dollars to PR efforts.
