Governors jockey for position ahead of 2014 elections

Governors gathered this weekend at the National Governors Association's summer meeting, where Republicans and Democrats sought to strengthen their positions ahead of the 2014 elections. Democrats believe that they can use the economy to tell a compelling story, and that Republican candidates will be hurt by their party's conservative social policies. "If you look at the map, you can say certainly we're in a much stronger position than we were four years ago," says Delaware Gov. Jack Markell, a Democrat.
