Nurses help make Camp Rhythm fun for kids with heart problems

Children at Camp Rhythm in Eureka, Mo., have fun, do crafts and compare chest scars that are the "badges of honor" they bear after cardiac surgery. The camp was begun by hospital nurses, says co-founder Charlotte Smock, and created for kids whose heart conditions may make them ineligible for other summer camp programs. Nurses and physicians from St. Louis Children's Hospital volunteer as camp staff.
