EBA finds wide range of capital calculations by banks

The European Banking Authority says in a report that it has found differences in banks' methods of calculating capital, including variances in how banks determine whether a borrower has defaulted. "This is an important step in a series of exercises the EBA is conducting with the aim of ensuring consistency in the calculation of risk-weighted assets across the EU," Chairman Andrea Enria said.
