Exercise during pregnancy may stave off gestational diabetes

Data on 83 healthy pregnant women showed 7% of those in the no-exercise group developed gestational diabetes, compared with none of those who exercised three times per week. Women in the no-exercise group also gained more weight and delivered slightly bigger babies compared with those who exercised, researchers reported in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.
