La. parish overhauls 9-1-1 board to improve spending accountability

Louisiana's St. Tammany Parish is changing the makeup of its 9-1-1 board, adding government representatives to help improve oversight of tax money spent on emergency services. The Parish Council voted last month to make the changes, effective Sept. 1, and has accepted the appointments of representatives for area fire departments and the sheriff's department.
