U.S. files lawsuits against BofA over RMBS sale

The Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission have filed lawsuits against Bank of America, claiming a sale of $850 million of residential mortgage-backed securities was fraudulent. The bank denies the allegation. "These were prime mortgages sold to sophisticated investors who had ample access to the underlying data, and we will demonstrate that," according to the bank.
