The Prince George's County Board of Education in Maryland has adopted a policy that promotes healthy living among students. Under the change, middle-school students will be eligible to take part in after-school sports, after two years of not being permitted to participate. The school board also eliminated a $50 fee for high-school students to play on school teams. The change drew support from advocates for more sports activity in schools.
