PCIP payments to family physicians increase in 2012

Medicare data showed 68,961 family physicians in the Primary Care Incentive Payment program received more than $251 million in 2012, about $38 million more than in 2011. Primary care physicians and other eligible primary care professionals received more than $664 million from the PCIP program in 2012 overall, compared to $560 million in 2011.
