Investors can expect volatility to dominate markets

The Standard & Poor's 500 dropped into correction territory last week, its worst in nearly three years. Gold, the Swiss franc and other safe havens rallied. And S&P downgraded the U.S. credit rating. "The long-term implications are daunting," said Jack Ablin, chief investment officer of Harris Private Bank. "Short-term, Treasurys remain a premier safe-haven refuge."
