New retirement report paints a rosier picture

Seven in 10 Americans between 66 and 69 are prepared financially for retirement, according to the National Bureau of Economic Research and the Rand Corp., whose report suggests that worries over the inability of Americans to retire comfortably may be overstated. However, the report notes that the numbers vary according to different factors, with a pattern of more married couples than singles in good financial shape.
