A number of new firms are using findings from the field of neuroscience to create training programs that promise to make people more mentally nimble. Monthly fees grant access to banks of online cognitive exercises, which advocates say strengthen the brain and help stave off cognitive decline. "Ageing baby-boomers desperate to postpone their dotage are expected to be especially keen buyers," The Economist notes.
