Gay candidate makes runoff in Seattle mayor's race

Seattle is a step closer to electing its first openly gay mayor. Sen. Ed Murray, who championed Washington's new marriage-equality law in the state Senate, was the top vote-getter in a mayoral primary this week. He'll face incumbent Mayor Mike McGinn in a runoff election in November. Murray is set to marry his longtime partner, Michael Shiosaki, on Saturday.
