Google adds more developer options to its cloud platform

The Google Cloud Platform and its various products are getting more options for developers, such as Layer 3 load balancing for Google Compute Engine, according to the company. "Load balancing is critical in any highly scalable system, allowing you to automatically and intelligently route traffic across a collection of servers," Google's Greg DeMichillie wrote in a blog post. In addition, Google designated more than 75 patents related to data-center software to be included in its Open Patent Non-Assertion Pledge program.
