CMS: Physician groups in quality demo hit benchmarks

CMS said fifth-year data on its Physician Group Practice Demonstration showed seven of 10 participants hit benchmarks for all 32 performance measures to improve care and all will move on to a two-year supplemental PGP Transition Demonstration project. Wisconsin's Marshfield Clinic saved Medicare more than $118 million, improved quality of care and was one of only two practices that received bonus payments each of the five years.
