New-media royalties to be weighed by actors, ad industry

As part of a tentative two-year contract for commercial actors between The American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and Screen Actors Guild and the ANA/AAAA Joint Policy Committee on Broadcast Talent Union Relations, a new media committee is being formed to explore the issue of royalties for ads streamed over the Internet or mobile devices. The committee's recommendations will be considered for negotiations for the next round of contract negotiations in 2008.
