Chinese city offers retailers incentives for going green

The Taiyuan Bureau of Commerce said the Chinese government will offer retailers a 50% subsidy for using energy-saving lights. Taiyuan is one of 10 Chinese cities tapped for a pilot project last year to promote energy savings within the retail industry. Using energy-saving lighting products will allow Taiyuan's retail industry to save about CNY60 million annually.
