Self-healing coating could eventually be used in construction

German scientists have developed a metal coating for cars, airplanes and ships that repairs itself, and observers say the material could eventually be used in construction projects. The self-healing coating contains capsules full of polymer or corrosion-inhibiting liquid that burst and release their contents when the coating is scratched.
