Senate panel hearing sets sights on pediatric devices

The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee held a hearing on July 21 to discuss issues concerning the development of medical devices and other treatments for pediatric diseases. Stephen Ubl, president and CEO of the Advanced Medical Technology Association, cited several points for consideration, including an evaluation of the "current unmet needs" in the field of pediatrics and the creation of an innovation-friendly regulatory framework for pediatric devices.
