Savannah, Ga., City Council is set to ban digital billboards

The City Council in Savannah, Ga., will scrap a proposal to set specific guidelines on digital signs and instead will vote on an ordinance to ban future electronic billboards altogether. The deal would cancel a 2007 agreement with Lamar Outdoor Advertising that called for the company to remove 87 old vinyl billboards in exchange for the ability to erect 14 digital signs.
