During the past nine years, Lawrence Ho, CEO of Melco Crown Entertainment, has helped expand his company of 10 to a business with 10,000 employees. His foray into the industry began when he purchased Melco in 2001 when it was a distressed, family-held asset. Melco recently opened the City of Dreams, Macau's $2.1 billion resort-casino. Ho says his focus remains on enhancing shareholder value by building up the company, but he is also seen by some as the heir apparent to his father's gaming empire.
