Report: Sony shipping battery that lasts four times longer

Sony, according to this report, has started shipping an "Olivine-type Lithium Iron Phosphate" rechargeable battery that lasts four times as long as traditional cells. The battery, which apparently is only being used in the company's power tools so far, can be recharged in about 30 minutes and retains 80% of its original capacity after 2,000 recharges.
