Foundation relies on clinics, local chapters to market app

Drugmakers Teva and AbbVie awarded grants to support the creation and design of the National Parkinson Foundation's patient-centric Parkinson's Central mobile application after a large number of patients downloaded the physician-facing Parkinson's Toolkit app. The foundation's head of research, a Parkinson's patient and a movement disorder specialist wrote and edited the content for the consumer app. The foundation is relying on local chapters and treatment centers as well as ads to spread the word about the app.
