Java SE platform will be added to Microsoft's Windows Azure cloud service

Java Standard Edition will be offered this year through the Windows Azure cloud service, according to Microsoft. It will be available as a platform-as-a-service offering and as part of a Windows Server infrastructure-as-a-service offering, the company said. "Having support for a Java platform on Azure is something our customers have been asking for," said Microsoft's Gianugo Rabellino.
