Shan Kanagasingham took over as general manager at The Surrey in New York City more than two years ago and began developing new brand positioning for the luxury hotel while enhancing service. " If you had come 10 years ago to The Surrey, the service would have been very friendly, but not necessarily polished. Today I think we’ve been able to refine it but keep the warmth and the genuineness," she said.
