General equivalence mappings for ICD-10 are updated by CMS

CMS announced it has revised the general equivalence mappings for converting data from ICD-9 to ICD-10 coding systems next year. The agency has introduced new and updated entries in the GEM, such as closer ICD-10 matches for ICD-9 codes for different medical conditions and procedures, as well as revised codes to satisfy the ICD-10 inclusion criteria.
