Some differences between men and women are skin-deep

Dermatologists must take a different approach to treating men because their bone and muscular structures are different from women's, as are their goals in seeking treatment, dermatologic surgeon Terrence Keaney says. Instead of lip augmentation, men may need augmentation of masculine features such as brow or jaw line, Keaney says. Men's skin is thicker than women's and may need more passes of a laser for scar revision or resurfacing, dermatologic surgeon Tina Alster said.
