Insurers flock to mapping programs as they seek to visualize risk data

Insurance broker Aon is helping its clients visualize and assess risk because of storm and other natural disaster damage with software that maps storm paths against the location of buildings such as retail stores or manufacturing plants. The program dashboard also includes data about claims histories and risk profiles for each location. Such mapping programs are helping insurers view data in new ways not possible when analyzing risk data through tables and text, Michael Goldberg writes.
