Sacramento, Calif., gym owners challenge restrictive sign rules

The owners of Got Muscle Health Club in Sacramento, Calif., filed a federal lawsuit alleging the city's ban on certain types of signage violates their right to free speech. Sandwich boards are an affordable, effective way to advertise the gym, the owners say, but the boards are banned under the city's sign ordinance and violators can be fined $1,000 per day.
