Chocolate, fries among foods to avoid to prevent reflux

Gastroenterologist Dr. Kevin McGrath says people should avoid eating seven things that can lead to acid reflux, including chocolate, fried foods, soda, caffeinated products, alcohol, and high-fat dairy and meats. These foods can weaken the ring at the base of the esophagus, where it meets the stomach, allowing acid to escape the stomach and cause reflux symptoms.
