EPA emission rules in Nebraska prove to be a challenge

Nebraska power companies are concerned that the new rules of the Environmental Protection Agency, such as the Cross-State Air Pollution Rule, will cost the state's utilities millions of dollars to be in compliance by Jan. 1. The CSAPR requires all fossil-fueled power facilities to lower sulfur dioxide emissions by 73% and nitrogen oxide emissions by 54%.
